What is Article 57 of the Indian Constitution?
Article 57 states: A person who holds, or who has held, office as President shall, subject to the other provisions of this Constitution, be eligible for re-election to that office.

Completion Of The 1st Term
To be able to be elected again, the President must finish their 1st term in office. During 1st term, the President should behave and function like the formal leader of the country and perform different duties and powers as summarized in the Indian Constitution.
Absence of Two Consecutive Terms
Article 57 of the Indian Constitution states that the President can’t participate in an election again for more than two terms in a row. This rule has also been made so that every person who is capable of contesting the presidential election should also get a chance to become President. Once a President has served two terms in a row, he/she has to stop being President, and someone new gets elected instead.
