What Article 62 Of The Indian Constitution States?
If the president’s 5-year term is almost over, new elections should be held before the term ends. We want to inform you that 6 months is the maximum time for holding elections if the President has been removed from office, has resigned on his own, or has died prematurely. The new candidate who becomes President after winning the election will serve for the next 5 years.
In which cases the post of President will be vacant?

Article 62 of the Indian Constitution Definition
Time of holding an election to fill a vacancy in the office of President and the term of office of a person elected to fill a casual vacancy.
An election to fill a vacancy caused by the expiration of the term of office of President shall be completed before the expiration of the term.
An election to fill a vacancy in the office of President occurring because of his death, resignation or removal, or otherwise shall be held as soon as possible after, and in no case later than six months from, the date of occurrence of the vacancy; and the person elected to fill the vacancy shall, subject to the provisions of article 56, be entitled to hold office for the full term of five years from the date on which he enters upon his office.
