What Is Article 67 Of The Indian Constitution
In Article 67, we will know under what conditions the Vice-President can work in his office. So let us tell you that whenever the Vice-President goes to his office and takes charge of his post, he will hold his post for 5 years from that date.
But he can resign before the completion of 5 years. But to resign, he will have to write a resignation letter, sign it, and give it to the President and when the President accepts the letter then it will be considered that the Vice-President has vacated his post.
- It is not necessary that he resigns on his own or vacates the post only after 5 years. But it is also possible that the Vice-President may be removed from his post. This is possible if the members of the Rajya Sabha sign that the Vice-President is not working properly. After Rajya Sabha, the members of Lok Sabha will also have to sign that the Vice-President should be removed from his post.
- If the Vice-President’s five-year term ends, he will hold office until a new Vice-President takes office control. For example, Vice President ‘A’ completes his 5-year term on 1 January 2024. This time ‘B’ wins the Vice President election in May. But he does not join the Vice President’s offices until 6 March. So until then the old Vice President i.e. ‘A’ will hold the office.
